I began my career in the construction industry in 1993 after graduating from the University of Georgia with a degree in finance and insurance. Accepting a job in the building material industry, I worked in purchasing, sales and estimating before being promoted to a General Manager position in 1997. I managed custom millwork operations 1997 to 2004, manufacturing windows, doors, insulated glass, custom moulding and millwork, providing our product to the local building trades.  During this period, I developed the hobby of woodworking which I continue to enjoy today.

In September, 2000, I began to transfer my experience in the supply and manufacturing industry to the single family home construction business. I completed my first home and at that point I was hooked on the thrill of taking a set of  plans and creating a true custom home.  I quickly realized that my philosophy of quality workmanship, quality building materials, and distinctive custom details that set a home apart from the others, can work.  I had spent my working years trying to convince builders that these things can be included in an affordable home.  I may not have convinced many of my former customers, but I had certainly convinced myself.

After building homes in conjunction with my manufacturing career, I decided to open my own business in January, 2004 and focus full time on building custom homes. I was fortunate enough to start with two special customers in the Peachtree City area that have helped grow my business with many references.

Today, I build four to five houses at one time, and about 8-10 annually. 90% of my sales are custom homes from the ground up, many requiring complete design services between myself, the homeowner, and several talented local architects. In 2006, my father David Bynum retired from a successful auction career and joined my company to help with on site project management. He has been a valuable addition not only to my business, but to my customers as well. I also employ two talented craftsmen, Joey Hatcher and Bobby Brown that display their talents in all of our homes and give our homes a flair you won’t normally find anywhere else.

I stay up to date with the building supply and manufacturing side to this day with my many contacts in that industry. I attend the annual International Home Builders Convention which showcases new and innovative products that may improve the home we build tomorrow, and I remain an active member of the Midwest Georgia Home Builders Association. Of course, my most valuable information source is my wife Mira that is employed as a wholesale building materials  trader.  Mira is a talent in the building material industry, but even more talented as the mother of our daughter Madelyn, and to our 2 English Bulldogs, Chief and Odie.  We reside in Sharpsburg, Georgia and have lived in the area for the last ten years.

A custom home is not necessarily one of elaborate design, or one that carries a certain price tag. A custom home is one that meets your specific family needs,  one that makes you feel at home, one that is exclusive to your tastes and lifestyle, and one that is a unique creation that displays the imagination of you and your builder.  No matter if you are looking for a distinctive but compact bungalow or a sprawling multi-level manor,  our finished product will certainly be unique.

Please let me know if you would like additional information on my company. References are available on request, and I would certainly encourage you to speak with any of my past clients on their experience building their custom home. Many of my customers also welcome you to tour their homes and are available to answer questions on the process of building a custom home.

We value each and every customer, and because of our relationships with them we are able to continue to build a successful company.  We hope you will be another valuable customer for us and allow us to build your custom home.

Thank you,

John Bynum
